Am I achieving the string of special moments that I fondly regard as education? Where my students derive critical insights from a sustained commitment to intellectual inquiry as well as a maturation of consciousness? Do they feel driven to act on what they have learned– not simply because ‘it’ has been ‘assigned’ to them, but because these lessons have culminated into an affirmation of what they already knew to be right? Am I, as an educator, hitting these sweet spots of teaching and learning?
All is well. I can swim with these doubts. As long as I’m in the water.
